Gynecologist hid camera: A gynecologist gets accused of camera hidden in pen, A gynecologist hid a camera in a pen according to Johns Hopkins Hospital. Apparently the gynecologist used the camera to secretly videotape patients. According to a report from Wednesday (Feb. 27), he is accused of wearing the pen around his neck during examinations and that it was his way of hiding the camera.
These are very worrisome allegations and not the type of news story that any woman wants to hear about. It turns out that an employee reported her suspicions to the hospital back on Feb. 4 and that it indeed did lead to the discovery that Dr. Nikita Levy had been recording his patients during exams. Faced with the accusations, Levy reportedly killed himself on Feb. 18.......examiner.
When an investigation was done on Feb. 5, the devices were found both in Levy's office and on his person. He was immediately barred from contact with patients and security took him off the hospital grounds. The number of patients that Levy has seen over the years in staggering, with more than 2,000 women that had were either current patients or former patients.
That a gynecologist hid a camera in this fashion is definitely an abuse of the trust that women have to place in doctors. It is likely going to lead to a very expensive lawsuit for Johns Hopkins especially as more and more women come forward. It is unclear just how many people that Dr. Nikita Levy recorded, but authorities working on the case say that it was extensive.
