Harrison Ford role

Harrison Ford role, After a bit of a pause in his career following Cowboys & Aliens — perhaps to make us forget — Harrison Ford is returning the the big screen in a big way, now with a role in the Anchorman sequel.

Per The Hollywood Reporter, Ford will play a Tom Brokaw-style anchor in the comedy, which is also bringing on Kristen Wiig in an unknown role. This, as Tatiana Siegel at THR notes, is familiar territory for Ford; he played a venerable newsman in 2010's light rom-com Morning Glory. YAHOO...

We still don't know much about the Anchorman: The Legend Continues plot, so it's unclear how Harrison Ford's character will interact with Ron Burgundy and the Channel Four team. Director Adam McKay has talked about wanting to bring on a "a murderer's row of the best day players ever," however something tells us perhaps Ford is more than just a day player. Will he be a serious-minded competitor to Burgundy? A member of an even older old boys club? We'll have to wait until Christmas to find out.

We'll have lots of Harrison Ford to keep us company while we wait. This year is something of a bonanza for Ford, who will appear in three other films — the long-awaited Ender's Game adaptation, the Jackie Robinson biopic 42, and corporate espionage thriller Paranoia — before Anchorman's December 20 debut. And then, of course, there's the Star Wars sequel, which is set to come out in 2015.

As far as Anchorman goes, the film is currently in production, if Paul Rudd's mustache on the Today show is any indication, anyway:
