Hulk rumors shot down by Joss Whedon and Mark Ruffalo, The "Hulk" rumors circulating through geek circles right now have been shot down, not once but twice. First, Renegade Cinema reported on March 6 that Joss Whedon said the rumors of a "Planet Hulk" movie were nonsense. Second, EW.com reported on March 7 that Mark Ruffalo said he won't even play Hulk again until "The Avengers 2."
The Hulk rumors had the "Planet Hulk" story taking place first as a standalone movie. That story, which already has been made as an animated movie, has the Earth's mightiest heroes tricking Hulk and shooting him off in a rocket to a deserted planet to destroy anything he wants without hurting anyone. However, the planet is not desolate and Hulk is captured and forced to fight as a gladiator until he liberates the planet. Reported Examiner.com
That led into "World War Hulk," where Hulk returns to Earth with allies to gain revenge on the heroes who cast him out. That was rumored to be "The Avengers 2."
First up, Joss Whedon said there is already a story in place for "The Avengers 2" and it does not involve "World War Hulk." Besides, the movies are already planned out, so the only way Hulk gets a solo movie is if it is in Phase 3, after "The Avengers 2."
Next up, Mark Ruffalo said we won't see Hulk again until "Avengers 2." He said he wants to be in a standalone "Hulk" film, but it won't happen till down the line.
The "Hulk" rumors were fun to speculate on, but they were only based in speculation and not fact.
