Jeb Bush 2016 Run, Jeb Bush isn't ruling out a run for the White House in 2016. "That's way off into the future," Bush, a Republican and former Florida governor, responded on Monday's "Today" show when asked about a possible presidential bid. "I won't [rule it out], but I won't declare today either."

While Bush—the younger brother of George W. Bush and second son of George H.W. Bush—may keeping the door open on continuing the family's presidential legacy, he also acknowledged his affection for New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie, who many feel would be a strong GOP candidate in 2016.

"I love the man," Bush said of Christie. The Texas native and resident of Coral Gables has also become something of a mentor to Florida Sen. Marco Rubio, another rising Republican star.

Bush, 60, served two terms as governor of Florida, from 1999 to 2007. According to the Miami Herald, Jeb Bush tried to buy the Miami Marlins baseball franchise, but current owner Jeffrey Loria rejected the bid. George W. Bush was the co-owner of the Texas Rangers before he was elected president.
