Step 1. Don’t freeze! Run away as quickly as possible but be careful of tree-stumps, rocks etc. If you trip, don’t try to swat the bees as this will anger them further. Note, The killer bees stinger is no more potent than domestic honeybees. Deaths occur as a result of not being able to escape quickly enough.........talkaboutfilm.
Step 2. Get indoors as quickly as possible & close the door behind you. Note, bees can’t fly through glass or other inanimate objects.
Step 3. If no indoor shelter is available, run through bushes or high weeds as the bees will tend not to follow you. Note, don’t cover yourself in honey before trekking into the wilderness.
Step 4. If a killer bee stings you, remove the stinger immediately by raking your fingernail across it. Do not pinch it or use tweezers as more of the killer bees’ toxic venom will be squeezed further into your blood stream.
Step. 5. Don’t jump into water (swimming pool, plunge pool, river etc.) as the bees will likely be waiting for you when you surface. Note, if you’re already in water, don’t go any deeper – remaining under water for prolonged periods could cause serious health implications like respiratory impairment – leading to further complications like death.
Step 6. Finally – avoid areas where killer-bees colonize. Africanized honeybees can be found in the Southern United States & swarm more frequently around Spring & Autumn. When they have found a suitable place to breed, they will become extremely protective of their young, the killer bees are highly aggressive – people & animals have been known to be stung to death & the bees will chase you as far as 150 metres.
Step 7. Don’t invite killer bees round for tea. Killer bees don’t like to be bothered & what may seem like harmless fun, can quickly escalate into blind panic.
